Abstract:

The subject of the study is to be aware of what the candidates for primary mathematics teachers are thinking about the components that form the concept of mathematical resilience. The purpose of the study is to identify the ideas of the candidates for primary mathematics teachers towards the concept of mathematical resilience. In the study, the phenomenology (olgubilim) design was used from the quality research patterns. The study was attended by 44 primary mathematics teaching second-class teachers candidates who studied at an university in CentralAnadolu. The data of the study was collected through a semi-configured written opinion form consisting of 5 (five) open end questions. The data of the study was analyzed through the content analysis method. The findings of the study show that the majority of candidates have developed mentality. It has also been found that all of the candidates pay attention to mathematics, their use in everyday life, their relationship with other sciences, cultural change and their place in nature. In addition, while all of the candidates talk about the nature of living difficulties while studying mathematics, some have expressed their views on the causes of difficulties and some on the overcoming of difficulties. The majority of the candidates for primary mathematics teachers must definitely be supported in mathematics while some have also responded in a supportable form. Most candidates have expressed their various thoughts, such as faith, patience and perseverance, for the feelings and thoughts they need to have when working on mathematics.
