Abstract:

Introduction: In the maintenance of safe health services, patient safety training and medical errors reporting skills and attitudes are important factors. However, the attitudes and experiences of health professionals in relation to patient safety are uncertain, but errors reporting is also insufficient.Objective: The research was carried out in order to determine the experiences and opinions of doctors and nurses, using the electronic error reporting system and the patient safety remote education program, about the systems.Method: The research was carried out in all the pediatric units of a university hospital, in accordance with the design of the research of the identifying quality. The study was completed with a total of 13 participants, including seven nurses and six doctors. The data obtained from the interviews was evaluated by content analysis.Discussions: The participants' statements have reached four main topics, including technical equipment and use of the error reporting system, awareness, scope and competence of the remote training program and new information. Designed and implemented event reporting system is effective and should be spread by awareness awareness. It has also been found that the distance learning program is sufficient as a scope and provides the opportunity to access new information.The result: The two systems used can be spread at the corporate level and inter-institutional scale and more effective events reporting can be made.
