Abstract:

This study focuses on the identity of the Advanced newspaper, which began its broadcasting life on 26 August 1960 three months after the May 27 military coup and ended on 17 November 1962. Following the government's hand-changing by the military coup on May 27, 1960, the new government needed a means to tell the public the legitimacy of its actions, to explain, to transmit their ideas and to provide broad social support. It is believed that the advance appears as a result of this need. In this study, the general publication policy, the formal characteristics of the Leader, the process of publication, the newspaper’s 27th May and period, how it defined the members of the Democratic Party, the attitude towards the members of the National Union Committee, the attitude towards political parties, were examined. In this study presented in the form of a historical identifying/impressive research design, the Advanced Collection was scanned, other books and documents that describe the period were studied. The aim of the study is to contribute to the history of the press work in the context of the period of 27 May 1960 and the press-power relations through the Pioneer.
