Purpose: Pregnancy can pass as a violent fearful process as it is a joyful and fun process. It is known that pregnancies have a high rate of fear of birth that should be taken into account, this fear is associated with a change in birth preference and an increase in the likelihood of birth complications. Prenatal pregnancy training can reduce fear during this process to enable a healthier birth process to experience. In this study, we aimed at exploring the impact of pregnancy school education on birth fear. Method: Samsun Education and Research Hospital is conducted in the pregnancy school associated with the Women's Birth Clinic. Weima-A Pregnancy Pregnancy Scale (W-DEQ) is applied to pregnancies who apply to the pregnancy school and agree to participate in the study by educators using the face-to-face conversation method. With the 4 week-long structured training program that is currently being implemented in the pregnancy school, pregnancy, birth, mother’s milk and infertility are provided. The study was carried out with 124 people. The average age is 27,13 ± 5,07. Pre-educational birth forecast W-DEQ score is 76.88 after-educational W-DEQ score is 48.78. The difference between them was statistically meaningful (p<0,001). The history of being born with a previously passed Caesar creates a significant difference on the W-DEQ score change as a result of the training intervention (p=0,048). The age, the age of first pregnancy, the history of low pregnancy, the planned pregnancy, the previous pregnancy-related training and the educational status have not made a significant difference in the W-DEQ score change. The result: Our study has shown that most pre-born pregnancies experience severe fear of birth. The training intervention reduces the perceptible birth fear.
