Abstract:

This study is an identifiable study for the purposes of epidemiological investigation of deaths occurring within 10 years in Silverhane Province. All 18.066 deaths from people registered in the Silverhane population, the universe of the study, occurred within 10 years, were included in the study. The data is obtained from the electronic records of the Directorate of Population. The records for the deaths in 2009 were also examined to the Provincial Health Directorate. The data was evaluated in the Epi info 2000 program and the Ki frame test was used as a statistical analysis. According to the study, the deaths occurring within 10 years were about 10 percent higher than the deaths occurring in the male population than in the female population. The average lifetime of both sexes increased in 10 years, from 57 to 63 in men and from 63 to 69 in women. Approximately half of the women who died and about 13 percent of the men who died were wives. Only 12.4 percent of deaths have been sent to the Provincial Health Directorate, filling the death form. The placement of the form of death in family medicine and hospital automation and the integration of information in this way in the MERNIS system will increase the speed and quality of data collection. We assume that the statistics of death will be more accurate to be compiled, evaluated and shared with the relevant institutions by the Ministry of Health instead of the Turkish Statistical Authority (TÜIK).
