Abstract:

The outbreak of Covid-19, which is emerging in a world that is more and more connected with each other, affects the social sphere widely, with its global effects and consequences. The aim of this study is to discuss the possible effects of the economic, social and political effects of the Covid-19 epidemic on the international system and the discipline of international relations. In a world that is more and more connected with each other in line with the developments in communication and transportation technologies, it is seen in a concrete way that the effects of the epidemic are also related to each other. Accordingly, it is envisaged that the economic consequences of the outbreak will both deepen the existing problems in the international system raise new problems and affect the discussion agenda of the international relations discipline. The economic problems caused by the outbreak will inevitably have social and political implications. For this reason, they economic consequences of the outbreak are evaluated and the possible shape of the international system in the post-epidemic process is discussed how the globalization process will take shape in the post-epidemic period, how the inequalities in the current structure will become, and what possible conflict elements may ocur in the international system. However, in the discipline of international relations, on the basis of national security and cyber sovereignty, the possibility of the formation of new discussion agendas in the post-epidemic process is evaluated as the possibility of the pre-existing discussion agendas coming to the fore. An outbreak that is felt in such a real way on a global scale and has tangible results has the potential to transform national security perceptions. However, given the attitudes of actors in the international system during the outbreak process, it is thought that existing understanding of cyber sovereignty differences between China and West has the potential to strongly influence discipline.
