Bu çalışmanın amacı, öğretmen motivasyonunu etkileyen faktörlerle ilgili yapılan araştırmalarda iç ve dış motivasyon unsurları açısından elde edilen sonuçların meta sentez yoluyla ortaya konulmasıdır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda belirlenen anahtar kelimelerle Web of Science, ERIC ve Google Scholar veri tabanlarında tarama yapılmıştır. Tarama sonucunda 15 makale, bilgisayar destekli nitel veri analiz programında iç ve dış motivasyon unsurları açısından analiz edilmiştir. Motivasyonu artırıcı içsel unsurlara bakıldığında çalışmalarda kişisel gelişimi sağlama, öğretmeyi sevme, faydalı olma isteği, mesleği isteyerek ve severek yapma unsurlarına sıklıkla yer verildiği saptanmıştır. Öte yandan özerklik eksikliğinin motivasyonu azaltan en önemli içsel unsur olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Motivasyonu artırıcı dışsal unsurlarda ise çoğunlukla çevredeki kişilerle iş birliği, dayanışma, iletişim, fiziki koşulların iyi olması gibi birçok faktörün olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Bunların yanı sıra ekonomik durumun ve mesleğin itibarsızlaştırılmasının motivasyonu düşürücü en önemli dışsal iki unsur olduğu belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen verilere genel çerçeveden bakıldığında öğretmenlerin motivasyonunu etkileyen dışsal faktörlerin içsel faktörlere nazaran çok daha fazla olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bu sonuçlar doğrultusunda öğretmenlerin motivasyonunu en çok azaltan faktörlerin belirlenmesi ve bunların nasıl kontrol altına alınabileceğinin araştırılması önerilmektedir.
The aim of this study is to reveal the results obtained from the research on the factors affecting teacher motivation in terms of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation through meta-synthesis. For this context, the literature was searched using keywords specified within the scope of the study in Web of Science, ERIC, and Google Scholar databases. In this direction, 15 articles were analyzed based on intrinsic and extrinsic motivation factors through a computer-assisted qualitative data analysis program. Considering the intrinsic factors that increase motivation, it was determined that the elements of providing personal development, loving teaching, being useful, and doing the profession willingly and lovingly were frequently included in the studies. On the other hand, it was determined that a lack of autonomy was the most important intrinsic factor that reduced motivation. It was concluded that there were many factors such as cooperation with the people, solidarity, communication, and good physical conditions the extrinsic factors that increased motivation. In addition, it was determined that the economic situation and the discrediting of the profession were the two most important extrinsic factors that reduced motivation. Looking at the data obtained from a general perspective, it was concluded that the extrinsic factors affecting the teachers’ motivation were much more than the intrinsic factors. In line with these results, it is recommended to determine the factors that most reduce teachers' motivation and conduct research on how to control them.
