Abstract:

The aim of this paper is to compare the learning outcomes of accredited and non-accredited tourism programs. The population of the study consists of higher education institutions providing tourism education at undergraduate level. The learning outcomes were accessed from the websites of universities from June 1st to June 30th,2023 employing purposive sampling technique, and in this regard establishment was taken into account. The similarities and differences of learning outcomes were identified, and the outcomes were categorized into dimensions of knowledge, skills, and competencies. The study results indicated that accredited Tourism Management programs focus on both practical application and theoretical background. However, non-accredited Tourism Management programs tend to emphasize practical application to a greater extent. The accredited programs in Tourism Guidance and Gastronomy and Culinary Arts distinguish from non-accredited ones by incorporating specific competencies and skills relevant to the program, including the knowledge and skills required by the profession.
