Every year, an average of one million people in the world kill themselves by suicide. This rate is much higher in disadvantaged groups such as the use of the substance and the crime population. In addition to some psychiatric problems in these groups, the contribution of social problems increases the risk of suicide. Although psychosocial studies are being conducted on these individuals in our country, studies on suicide prevention and suicide risk factors are not yet at the expected level. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to study the influence of psychosocial variants and personality factor on the risk of suicide, such as family functionality and social support perception in individuals who have taken the controled freedom measures and who are using substance. Tools and Methods: For this purpose, this study was conducted with 403 male participants, including 183 article users and 220 individuals who committed crime. The findings: The study found that being single, having a low income, committing crime at an early age, the behavior of use of substances and the behavior of use of multiple substances and the risk of suicide have a significant relationship. In addition, the best indicative variables of suicide risk have been found that the personality characteristics of neuroticism, psychoticism and family members have a weak interest in each other, R2 = 0.551, F (12, 389) = 39.79, p < .001; Adjusted R2 = .537, 55% of the variable ratio described. Result: According to these findings, the inclusion of social support factors such as family in suicide prevention studies is expected to reduce the risk of suicide.
