The article discusses the interpretation of experimental data obtained as a result of free association experiments conducted with Tatar, Bashkir, and Russian children. The study identifies the ways and methods of association in related and dissimilar languages using the above-mentioned languages as an example. The experimental data demonstrates that the Russian and Bashkir languages have more in common in the age dynamics of the semantic development of a word compared to that of the Tatar language. The materials obtained in the Tatar language indicate a more intensive process of differentiation of the semantic contents of words, which increases with age, while in the materials obtained in the Bashkir language, there is a more pronounced and intensive process of generalization with advancing age.
