The election of Donald Trump as president of The United States of America (USA) points to a breaking point in terms of both American domestic politics, American foreign policy and international order. In relation to foreign policy, anti-establishment approach of the USA led by Trump at the level of discourse and action has raised concerns about the fate of the established global order based on liberal values. Therefore, there is uncertainty about the future of international hegemonic order whose construction the USA led and the hegemonic position of the USA in that order. This study tries to understand and make sense of this uncertainty. For this purpose, the concept of hegemony and its predominantly Gramsci-Cox version were chosen as the analytical framework. As the review object, the new political style in American foreign policy, shaped by policy preferences expressed both in Trump’s discourses and actions and in the American National Security Document-2017 in areas such as trade, security, international agreements and multilateralism, were handled.
