Bu çalışmada, ortaokul öğrencilerinin Covid-19 algılarının ve Covid-19 pandemi döneminde okul algılarının zihinlerinde nasıl canlandırdıklarını metaforlar aracılığıyla belirlenmesi hedeflenmektedir. Araştırmada nitel araştırma modellerinden Fenomenoloji deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2020-2021 eğitim öğretim yılının birinci döneminde Türkiye’nin farklı illerindeki devlet okullarında uzaktan eğitim gören 100 ortaokul öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama aşamasında sosyal izolasyon nedeniyle katılımcılara google formlar aracılığıyla anket yollanmış, veri toplama sürecinde WhatsApp uygulaması kullanılmıştır. Veri analizinde içerik analizinden faydalanılmıştır. Araştırmanın bulgularına göre, Covid-19 kavramıyla ilgili öğrenciler 51 geçerli metafor üretmişlerdir. Çoğunlukla gribe benzetmişlerdir. Oluşturulan metaforlara göre ”hastalık ve yayılım” ,”olumsuz etki”, ”öldürücülük”, ”umut”, “bilinmezlik” kategorileri oluşturulmuştur. Covid-19 pandemi döneminde okul kavramıyla ilgili olarak 48 geçerli metafor üretilmiş, çoğunlukla büyük tehlike, ev gibi metaforlar kullanılmıştır. Oluşturulan metaforlara göre ”tedbir”, ”uzaktan eğitim”, ”belirsizlik”, ”olumsuz etki”, ”duygu durumu” kategorileri oluşturulmuştur. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre öğrencilerin genellikle olumsuz ifade kullandıkları görülmüştür. Bu algıları yok edebilmek için sınıf, okul rehber öğretmenlerinden, velilerden yardım alınması önerilebilir.
The aim of the study is to determine the Covid-19 perceptions of secondary school students and how they visualize their school perceptions during the Covid-19 pandemic period through metaphors. Phenomenology pattern was used in the research. The study group of the research consists of 100 secondary school students studying distance education in public schools in different provinces of Turkey in the first semester of the 2020-2021 academic year. The questionnaires was sent to the participants via google forms to collect the data due to social isolation. Content analysis was used in data analysis. The findings of the research, students produced 51 valid metaphors related to the concept of Covid-19. According to the metaphors created, the categories of "disease and spread", "negative effect", "lethal", "hope", "uncertainty" were created. During the Covid-19 pandemic period, 48 valid metaphors were produced regarding the concept of school.
