Abstract:

The concept of games and toys is very important for children. This concept, which is as old as human history, contributes to the physical, spiritual and mental development of children. Today's toys started to be produced from many different materials through development of technology. However, the safety of these materials in terms of health is discussed. Since parents are now more conscious of material knowledge and care about their children's health more than anything else, they have begun to canalize their toy choices towards natural wooden toys. The designs in toy design are just intended for children. In this article, starting from the definition of the toy, research of toy industry, definition of wooden toy and the effects of wooden toys on child development will be investigated. And as a design proposal, considering either the children and the parents, the design of modular wooden children's playhouse and the investigation of its innovative aspects compared to other toys will be done.
