Abstract:

The construction industry aims to produce efficient projects by optimizing costs, quality and time. However, this is not always so easy. Projects may not be completed in time, the budget may be overcome, or the products may not be produced in sufficient quality. Therefore, the good management of the project in the design phase and the consideration of all possible alternatives is important in terms of achieving optimal cost, time and quality. It is possible to reduce construction costs with the traditional cost control and planning methods that are being applied, but the project owner often complains that the quality is also low in comparison to the low cost. Value Engineering is a powerful method to solve problems and / or reduce costs whileining or improving performance and quality requirements. Value engineering can be defined as an organized effort to analyze structural characteristics, systems, equipment and material choices designed to fulfill the essential functions in the required performance, quality, reliability and life cycle cost. Value Engineering is the review of new or existing products in the design phase to increase the value of a product, reduce costs and improve functionality. In this study, a value analysis work will be done to decide the product selection in the construction sector.
