Abstract:

The plants have played an important role in human life for many years. Nowadays, the method of using plants in the treatment of various diseases is still an important way. There are many plants traditionally used by the public in the treatment of various diseases in Turkey. The records of information belonging to these plants are made with ethnobotanical studies. Thus, the data obtained from the elderly generations are recorded and transferred to the younger generations. It will contribute to new drug development studies by guiding various activities and biological work to be done. In this study, which is based on the screening of ethnobotanical studies, 120 plant taxa were used among the population in Turkey against stomach ulcer. Families of these plants were identified as Asteraceae (18 taxa), Lamiaceae (13 taxa), Rosaceae (9 taxa) and Pinaceaea (6 taxa). Generally, infusions and decoctioned teas were found to be used internally. The most commonly used plants are Asphodelus aestivus Brot., Calendula officinalis L., Echinophora tenuifolia L. subsp. by sibthorpiana (Guss) Tutin, Ficus carica L. subsp. by Rupestris (Hausskn) Browicz, Hypericum perforatum L., Hypericum scabrum L., Juniperus oxycedrus L. subsp. oxycedrus, Liquidambar orientalis Miller, Momordica charantia L., Malva neglecta Wallr., Pinus brutia Ten., Plantago major L. subsp. major, Rheum ribes L., Rhus coriaria L., Rosa canina L., Urtica dioica L.
