Abstract:

In the developing world, it is expected that legal education, lawyering, lawyers and legal systems will keep up with these developments. Therefore, a variety of reform movements are seen in legal education in the world and Turkey. Turkey, within the framework of the European Union accession process, has signed the Bologna Declaration. Furthermore, in the same framework, it has issued Judicial Reform Strategy Documents, one of the opening criteria of the Chapter on Judiciary and Fundamental Rights Chapter No 23. The last of these documents was announced in 2019. In the document issued in 2019, radical changes in legal education and legal professions were mentioned. In fact, with the amending Law No. 7188, ‘Law Profession Admission Exam’ and ‘Administrative Judicial Preliminary Exam’ have been enacted. Canada is one of the North American countries which holds some of the reforms identified and proposed on legal education and legal professions in The Judicial Reform Strategy Document 2019. These determinations and reform movements demonstrate the necessity to examine other legal systems and educational models in comparative and international law, as well. For this reason, the legal education and legal professions of Canada, which is a highly developed country with Anglo Saxon Legal System tradition, will be briefly mentioned.
