1361-1387 yılları arasında Germiyanoğullarına hükümdarlık yapan Süleyman Şah tarafından Kütahya Kalesi içinde yaptırılan mescit, inşa kitabesinde “mübarek mescit” olarak geçtiğinden birçok farklı isimle anılmıştır. Bugüne kadar Kütahya Kalesi ile ilgili yapılan çalışmalar, kaleyi kronolojik olarak belirli bölümlere ayırmış, bu bölümlerden Yukarı Kale denilen kısımda inşa edilen mescidi Yukarı Kale Mescidi olarak adlandırmak uygun görülmüştür. Yukarı Kale Mescidi ilk inşasından sonra birçok kez onarım geçirerek büyük oranda orijinalliğini yitirmiş halde günümüze ulaşmıştır. Onarımlar yeniden inşa diyebileceğimiz boyutlarda yapılmış olsa da mescidin temel seviyesinde kare bir tabana oturtulmuş olması aynı dönem içinde inşa edilen benzer örnekleriyle mukayeseye imkânı tanımış ve yapının dönemin genel mescit mimarisine uygun olarak inşa edildiği sonucuna varılmıştır.
The mosque, built in the Kutaya Castle by Suleiman Shah, who ruled the Germian sons between 1361-1387, is mentioned in many different names than it was referred to as "Mubarak mosque" in the building book. To date, the work on the Castle of Kütahya has chronologically divided the castle into certain sections, from these sections the mosque built in the part called Upper Castle has been considered appropriate to be called Upper Castle Mosque. The Upper Castle Mosque has been rebuilt several times after its first construction and has lost its originality to a large extent. Although the repairs were made in the dimensions we can call rebuilding, the mosque was placed on a square base at the basic level, it was possible to compare with similar examples built in the same period and the conclusion was that the structure was built in accordance with the general mosque architecture of the period.
Masjid, was built within the Kütahya Castle by Süleyman Şah, who ruled the Germiyanoğul between 1361-1387. As it is referred to as “blessed masjid” in the building inscription, it is known by many different names. Studies on Kütahya Castle so far have divided the castle into certain sections chronologically. It has been deemed appropriate to call the masjid built in the part called Yukarı Kale as the Yukarı Kale Masjid. Yukarı Kale Masjid has been repaired many times after its first construction and has largely lost its originality. The repairs were made in sizes that we can call rebuilding. However, the fact that the masjid was placed on a square base at the basic level allowed us to compare with similar examples built during the same period. As a result, it was revealed that the building was built in accordance with the general masjid architecture of the period.
