This article examines Graham Swift’s work “The Sun with a rich imagination” which offers a calling narrative of the events that happen in a single day. The article, taking advantage of the fundamental elements of Freud's psychoanalysis, illuminates the ways in which literary works can access and analyze the unconscious desires, concerns and conflicts of the writer and his characters. Swift’s unusual narrative technique uses first-person narrative, tension and secret meanings to create a convincing portrait of mystery and the structure of the human mind through the flow of consciousness.
