Yaşadığı ülkenin dışına hiç çıkmayan öğretmen adaylarının daha başarılı çizimler yaptıkları görülmüştür. Bu araştırmada fakültede gördükleri dersler içerisinde önem sırası açısından coğrafya dersini ikinci sıraya koyan öğretmen adaylarının diğer öğretmen adaylarından daha başarılı çizimler yaptıkları tespit edilmiştir. Öğretmen adaylarının mezun oldukları lise türlerinin harita çizme becerileri üzerinde belirleyici bir etkisinin olmadığı ortaya çıkmıştır.
