Abstract Suicide is among the ten leading causes of death in Cuba. This work focuses on knowing the geographic distribution of suicide mortality in Cuba, at the provincial level and with a case study in the country's capital. It exposes the theoretical-methodological bases that support the importance of using the geographical approach in the study of death by suicide. Mortality due to suicides in Cuba is analyzed according to demographic indicators and a characterization of the territorial differentiation of mortality due to suicide in Cuba and in the Ciudad de La Habana province for the period (2004-2008) is carried out according to demographic indicators.
