Abstract:

In this study, the aim of the Child Social and Ethical Orientation Scale (COSAYÖ) is to adapt to the Turkish culture by making validity and reliability analyses. The study was attended by the mother of 665 children aged 36-72 months, who were ongoing to the pre-school education institution in the province of Denizli. The expert opinion for the validity of the language of the measure has been used. A verifying factor analysis has been done to ensure the structure validity of the measurement. The model conformity index resulted from the analysis; x2/sd=2,95, RMSEA=.054, RMR=.045, GFI=.88, AGFI=.87, CFI=.91. These values indicate that the factor structures of the scale are acceptable and give valid results. The Cronbach Alpha internal consistency ratio of the scale is .88, for the social resistance sub-dimensional. 87, for social insecurity subdimensions .76, for social retreat subdimensions .87, for social pleasure subdimensions .90, for social harmony subdimensions .84, for social thought subdimensions .85, for social imagination subdimensions .86. The matter's total correlation values take values in proportions ranging from 0.49 to 0.72. The measurement-related validity of COSAYÖ and the results of the analyses carried out for test-up and test correlation found that the ratings were sufficient. Research results show that the Child's Social-Ethical Orientation Scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool, which can be used in determining the social-Ethical Orientations of children between 3 and 6 years of age.
