The process of adaptation to the profession is very important for all professions. When we look at the education and training life, the effectiveness of teachers in the process is quite high. Teachers can directly determine the quality and quality of education. Therefore, we can say that teachers faced some difficulties when they first started their duty. The aim of this study is to examine the competence perceptions and problems faced by physical education teachers who are just starting their jobs. The aim of this study is to examine the competence perceptions of physical education teachers who have just started working and the problems they encounter. The research is a qualitative study. The research group consists of 10 physical education teachers and this working group was determined by the maximum diversity sampling method. In the research, face-to-face interview technique was used with 10 physical education teachers who recently started working in the schools affiliated to Gaziantep Provincial Directorate of National Education, on a voluntary basis. In the study, the data obtained by using the interview method, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was analyzed with the content analysis method. As a result of the research, the new physical education teachers stated that they are at a sufficient level in general. The problems faced by the teachers participating in the research; They stated that there are compliance problems in the profession, lack of equipment and problems with regulations. The research group stated that they got help from the school administration, counselor teachers and fellow teachers in solving the problems. In addition, physical education teachers who just started to work; It was determined that the teachers objected to the field change. In addition, it is recommended for teachers who have just started their duty to organize orientation seminars and to attend classes with senior teachers for a certain period.
