Mitos ve Logos kavramları Antik Yunan uygarlığında söz kavramına karşılık gelen sözcükleri karşılamak için kullanılmıştır. Felsefe tarihinin başlangıcı için yapılan tanımlamalarda ise mitos kavramının yerine logos kavramının tercih edilmesi iki kavram arasında bir farklılığı ortaya koymak için yapılmaktadır. Bu ayrımın nedeni ise mitos’un daha çok dinsel içerikle anılması logos’un ise içerisinde bir tür akılsallık barındırması şeklindeki yorumlarda kendini göstermektedir. Ancak söz konusu ayrımın ilk doğa filozofu/ilk felsefeci olarak nitelendirilen Thales için geçerli olup olmadığı geçmişte olduğu gibi günümüzde de halen tartışılmaktadır. Felsefe tarihi yazımlarında ilk sıraya konan Thales’in anılan kavramları gerçekten farklı şekilde yorumlayıp yorumlamadığı bizce de tartışmaya açık bir husustur. Bu açıdan bakıldığında Thales, söz konusu kavramları iki farklı problemler alanı olarak mı görmüştür? Onun düşüncelerinde kendinden önceki mitolojik mirasın izleri bulunabilir mi? O, katışıksız bir rasyonel midir, yoksa henüz felsefenin yeni filizlendiği bir toplumda bir ara basamağı mı temsil etmektedir? Bu makalenin içerisinde tartışacağımız bu sorular, felsefe tarihinin başlangıcına ilişkin kavramsal arka planın ne olduğu hakkında bize katkı sağlayacaktır.
The myth and logos concepts were used to meet the words that correspond to the word concept in ancient Greek civilization. In the definitions for the beginning of the history of philosophy, the preference of the concept of logos instead of the myth is made to reveal a difference between the two concepts. The reason for this distinction is that the myth is more religiously referred to in the logos, and it appears in the comments in the form of a kind of intelligence. However, the distinction is still being discussed, as in the past, whether it applies to Thales, the first-natural philosopher/first-philosopher. Thales, who is first in his historical writings, does not really interpret the concepts mentioned in a different way, and we think it is open to discussion. From this point of view, did Thales see these concepts as a field of two different problems? Can his thoughts find traces of the mythological heritage before him? Is it an uninterrupted rational, or is it still an interruption in a society where philosophy is newly filed? These questions we will discuss in this article will contribute to what the conceptual background of the beginning of the philosophical history is.
The concepts of Mythos and Logos were used in Ancient Greek civilization to meet the words corresponding to the word concept. In the definitions made for the beginning of the history of philosophy, the concept of logos instead of the concept of myth is made to reveal the difference between the two concepts. The reason for this distinction is manifested in the comments that the mitos are mentioned with more religious content and the logos contain some kind of rationality in it. However, whether it is valid for Thales, who is considered as the first nature philosopher / philosopher, is still being discussed today. Whether Thales, who was placed in the first place in the history of philosophy writing, interprets the concepts in a different way is a matter of controversy for us. From this point of view, we will try to address the mentioned problem historically in our article.
