In this study, the alkali activated mortar production potential of Elazığ ferrochrome slag pulverized as cement granules with using NaOH - Na2SiO3 has been investigated for the at the activation temperatures of 40, 65 and 90°C. Alkali activators have been selected as 6, 9 and 12 mols and activation temperatures have been implemented through 1, 2 and 4 days. On the produced mortar, the consistency test initial and setting times has been performed on the paste specimens. In the hardened mortar samples after each activation temperature and residence time in the drying oven; unit weight, ultrasonic pulse velocity, capillary water suction and compressive strength tests have been performed. Consequently, without using the cement, alkali activated mortar with 15 MPa above the strength value using Elazığ ferrochrome slag as binder is concluded to be produced.
