Abstract:

Niyazi Berkes is a researcher in the forefront with his scientific works on the history and sociology of the renewal of Turkey. Berkes' works, which have signed many high-level studies, including "Modernization in Turkey", are still able to be among the top books of many researchers today. It can be said that many elements are effective. We can express the author’s deep, objective and highly rational interpretation of the subjects examined is the most effective act inining the durability of his works. In contrast to his contemporaries, Berkes is a writer who has managed to bring comments at a level that can extend far beyond the range when he is in his work. By analyzing the topic he studies with these comments from points that other researchers can’t see, it expands both the reader’s perspective and affects the researchers more deeply. That’s why, despite more than a quarter of the century of his death, his works are still one of the leading sources of communication for scientists and large public crowds.
