Abstract:

The Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was established as a result of the great struggle against nationalism. But after 1980, nationalist movements and nationalist politicians in Yugoslavia regained. In the early 1990s, Croatia, Slovenia, Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina declared independence from Yugoslavia. Thus, Yugoslavia was broken down and collapsed in the early 1990s. All the nationalist movements developed throughout Yugoslavia have been influential at this or that level in the destruction/division of Yugoslavia. In the context of this article, the "Role/Effect of Croatian nationalism in the collapse of Yugoslavia" was analyzed. For this purpose, the article, respectively, examined "Croatian Spring", "The rise of Croatian nationalism under the leadership of Franco Tudjman" and "Croatian irredentism".
