Bu araştırmanın amacı, müzik eğitim fakültelerinde eğitim gören öğrencilerin caz müziği ve caz müziği türleri hakkındaki bilgi seviyelerini ölçmektir. Araştırmada üniversite öğrencilerinin caz müziği ve türlerine ilişkin bilgi düzeyini belirlemek ve çeşitli değişkenlere göre karşılaştırmalar yapılması amaçlandığı için ilişkisel tarama türünde bir araştırmadır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Gazi Üniversitesi, Gazi Eğitim Fakültesi Müzik Öğretmenliği Bölümü öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Çalışma grubu 68 erkek ve 67 kız olmak üzere toplam 135 öğretmen adayından oluşturulmuştur. Çalışma grubu oluşturulurken kolay ulaşılabilir (uygun) örnekleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma kapsamındaki üniversite öğrencilerinin genel olarak Caz müziği ve türlerine yönelik bilgi düzeylerinin düşük olduğu, cinsiyete göre farklılık görülmediği, Caz müziğine ilgili olan üniversite öğrencilerinin, Bando lisesinden mezun olanların, caz müziği eser ve icracılara ait bilgileri yüksek olan öğrencilerin Caz müziği ve türlerine ilişkin bilgi düzeylerinin diğer öğrencilere göre fazla olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
The aim of this research is to measure the level of knowledge of the students studying in the music educational faculty about jazz music and jazz music. The study is a study of the relative scanning type as it aims to determine the level of knowledge of the university students about jazz music and their types and to make comparisons according to various variables. The study group is made up of students from the University of Gazi, the Faculty of Education of Gazi, the Department of Music Teaching. The work group consists of a total of 135 teachers candidates, including 68 men and 67 girls. The method of sampling is easily accessible (compatible) when creating a working group. The research has found that university students in the scope have a low level of knowledge about jazz music and species in general, that there is no gender difference, that university students who are related to jazz music, that students who are graduated from Bando high school, that students who have a high level of knowledge about jazz music and performers have a higher level of knowledge about jazz music and species than other students.
The purpose of this research is to measure the knowledge levels of students studying in music education faculties about jazz music and jazz music types. It is a research in relational screening because it is aimed to determine the level of knowledge of university students about jazz music and genres and to make comparisons according to various variables. The study group of the research consists of Gazi University, Gazi Education Faculty Music Teaching Department students. The study group consisted of a total of 135 prospective teachers, 68 boys and 67 girls. While creating the working group, easy accessible (suitable) sampling method was used. The level of knowledge of the university students within the scope of the research about jazz music and their genres is low, there is no difference in terms of gender, university students who are interested in jazz music, graduates of the band high school and the knowledge levels of jazz music and genres of students with high knowledge of jazz music and performers. It was determined to be more than other students.
