Walter Benjamin, sinema ve fotoğraf gibi yeniden üretim tekniklerinin sanatın doğasını temelden değiştirdiğini ve sanat eserinin aurasını ortadan kaldırdığını savunur. Bu yeni teknolojiler, nesnenin buradalığını, ritüel ve kült değerini, üç boyutluluğunu ortadan kaldırmakta ve böylece sanat eserinin aurasını yok etmektedir. Fotoğraf, bir sanat eserinin sonsuz sayıda özdeş kopyasını üreterek, yapıtın aura kavramını ortadan kaldıran bir yeniden üretim aracıdır. Aynı zamanda, uzun yıllar bir sanat dalı olarak kabul edilmemiş olan fotoğrafın kendisi de Benjamin’in tariflediği anlamda bir auraya sahip değildir. Aura ve sanat eseri arasındaki ilişki bağlamında, NFT teknolojisi, özgünlük ve orijinallik gibi bir sanat eserinin sahip olması gereken en önemli özellikleri sunma iddiası ile, bir ihtiyaca cevap olarak ortaya çıkmış gibi görünmektedir. Bu çalışma, Walter Benjamin'in "Tekniğin Olanaklarıyla Yeniden Üretilebildiği Çağda Sanat Yapıtı" adlı makalesini temel alarak, "fotoğraf sanat eserinin daha önce sahip olmadığı aurayı kazanmasının yolu NFT'ler olabilir mi?" sorusunu ele almayı hedeflemektedir. Çalışma, NFT teknolojisi ile dijital çağda fotoğraf sanatının geleceğini ve NFT'lerin fotoğrafçılar için avantajlarını incelemektedir.
Walter Benjamin claims that re-production techniques such as cinema and photography fundamentally changed the nature of art and eliminated the aura of the artwork. These new technologies eliminate the presentness of the object, the ritual and the cult value, the three-dimensional, and thus destroy the aura of the artwork. Photography is a means of re-production that eliminates the aura concept of an artwork by producing infinite numbers of identical copies of an artwork. At the same time, the photo itself, which has not been considered a branch of art for many years, does not have an aura in the sense that Benjamin describes. In the context of the relationship between Aura and the artwork, the NFT technology appears to have emerged as a response to a need, with the claim to provide the most important characteristics that an artwork should have, such as originality and originality. This study, based on Walter Benjamin’s article “The Art Building in the Age in which Technology Could Re-Produce With The Possibilities”, “Can NFTs Be the Way to Gain the Aura That Photography Art Works Have Never Had Before?” It is intended to address the question. The study explores the future of photography in the digital age with NFT technology and the advantages of NFTs for photographers.
