and assoc. Prof. Seyfettin Kuter was born in Istanbul at the first years of the Republic of Turkey (1926). Like most of the other people of that period; S. Kuter is one of the dying out inspirational individuals of that idealist, obstacle confronting, contentious Children of the Republic generation. His last years at elementary school and high school period came across to the miserable, poverty days of World War II. Seyfettin Kuter, who has graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Science, Department of Physics and Mathematics in 1951, is the first medical physicist of Turkey. He has accomplished so many first-ever innovations in Istanbul University, Institute and Clinic of Radiology (today known as the Institute of Oncology), and provided medical physics to improve as a separate division of science in Turkey along with helping to raise lots of staff in that branch. In this paper, it is aimed to mention the development of medical physics in Turkey in the life story of Assoc. Professor Seyfettin Kuter
