In this article “Turkey Guide” the large-scale encyclopedic culture tourism and trade promotion book of which formation process of the idea begins in 1936 with a national travel but publication of the first volume performed in 1946 covering all the provinces the districts of Turkey and the preparer businessman Hüseyin ORAK's very interesting life is the subject. In aforementioned years Hüseyin ORAK one of the leading businessmen of the young Republic and Ankara was about to start a national wide trip with his children by train in 1936 the fact that they were looking for publicity and guide books to recognize the places they would travel caused an idea of preparing him as a businessman when they couldn't find covering all the cities and districts in five volumes with the geographical position ofprovinces in the years 1945-46 the land structure climate surface and underground riches the commercial life economic and social structure cultural and historical riches folklore place to be visited transportation important personalities and so on. With detailed and carefully identified information carrying the name of Turkey's Guide it is the first book to feature a detailed introduction to Turkey but only the first volume was published. In addition when taken into consideration during the preparation process this book has a great value with the contributed persons and the seriousness in terms of analysis refers to the socio-economic and cultural structure of Turkey in 1940s. There is no academic studies about the book up to day but newspaper articles published to appreciate and recognize by those who skilled in the academic administrative political field. Despite the praise and recognition from all these persons the expected interest in the untreated following volumes planned after the first volume was not printed this precious enterprise was not succeeded and its entrepreneur spent the rest of his life in great economic difficulties.
