Abstract:

Global problems such as the decrease in natural resources, global warming and climate change are among the most important common issues that have occupied the agenda of humanity in recent years. The urban lifestyles of the modern individual involve the daily use of a large number of products. However, few people are concerned about how these products are produced and which environmental and socio-economic impacts occur in this process. On the other hand, millions of consumers do not pay attention to the reuse or recycling of the products they use when they no longer need them. However, when buying and using a product for today's modern individual, it is important to consider all product-related impacts, such as the consumption of natural resources, negative ecological impacts, environmental degradation, climate change, and financial environmental costs within the framework of a life cycle perspective. Otherwise, these environmental impacts can cause serious harm to both people and society. Therefore, it is expressed as a social responsibility movement that people consume their consumption considering the environment. The aim of this study is to examine the effect of socially responsible consumption on environmental consumption. Data were collected by using face-to-face questionnaire technique with 398 people who were determined by sampling method. As a result of the research; It was concluded that social and economic support dimension had an effect on environmental anxiety, social support dimension had an effect on environmental awareness, but economic support dimension had no effect.
