Bu araştırmanın amacı, sorgulamaya dayalı öğrenme yaklaşımı çerçevesinde işlenen Fen Bilimleri dersinin ortaokul 7. sınıf seviyesindeki öğrencilerin üstbiliş düzeylerine etkisini araştırmaktır. Araştırmada hem nicel hem nitel veri toplama yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Bu bakımdan araştırma karma bir yöntem içermektedir. Araştırma süreci eşzamanlı dönüşümsel karma araştırma tasarımına göre yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2016-2017 eğitim öğretim yılında, Türkiye’nin batı bölgesinde bir ilçede, devlet okulunda öğrenim görmekte olan 7. sınıf seviyesinde 40 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak Çocuklar İçin Üstbilişsel Farkındalık Ölçeği B Formu (ÜBFÖ-B) ve Yarı Yapılandırılmış Görüşme Formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada fen bilimleri dersi deney grubunda Sorgulamaya Dayalı Öğrenme Yaklaşımına uygun olarak yürütülürken kontrol grubunda 2013 Fen Bilimleri dersi öğretim programına bağlı olarak yürütülmüştür. Elde edilen veriler istatistiksel yöntemler kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, deney grubunda yer alan öğrencilerin üstbiliş düzeylerinin kontrol grubunda yer alan öğrencilere göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı düzeyde arttığı görülmüştür. Nitel verilerin analizinde elde edilen sonuçlar da nicel verilerden elde edilen sonuçları desteklemektedir.
The objective of this research is to investigate the impact of the Science Course, processed in the framework of a question-based learning approach, on the level of superintelligence of students at high school 7th grade. In the study, both quantum and quality data collection methods were used. In this regard, the research includes a karma method. The research process is carried out according to the simultaneous transformative karma research design. The research study group consists of 40 students at the 7th grade level who are studying in a district in the western region of Turkey in the 2016-2017 educational year. As a data collection tool, the Children’s Over-Scientific Awareness Scale B Form (UBFÖ-B) and the Half-Structured Conversation Form were used. The course of science in research was conducted in accordance with the survey-based learning approach in the experimental group while the course of science in the control group was conducted in accordance with the 2013 course of science in accordance with the curriculum. The data received was analyzed using statistical methods. The study found that the level of superintelligence of students in the experimental group increased statistically significantly compared to students in the control group. The results obtained in the analysis of quality data also support the results obtained from quantitative data.
The aim of this research is to investigate the effect of a Science course which is based on an inquiry based learning approach on 7th-grade students’ metacognition levels. Both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods were used in the study. Considering that both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods are used, the study involves a mixed-method. The research process was carried out according to the simultaneous transformational mixed research design. The study group consists of 40 students at the 7th grade who were studying in the 2016-2017 academic year in public schools in a district in the western part of Turkey. The data analysis is carried out via the Metacognitive Awareness Scale B form (MAI-B) and Semi-Structured Interview Form. The obtained data were analyzed using statistical methods. As a result of the study, it was determined that the metacognition levels of the students in the experimental group increased statistically significantly compared to the students in the control group. In addition, the results obtained in the analysis of qualitative data support the results obtained from the quantitative data.
