T.Ü. Tekirdağ Ziraat Fakültesi Tarla Bitkileri Bölümü deneme alanında yapılmıştır. Araştırmada materyal olarak tescil edilmemiş iki melez ve dört köy popülasyonu kullanılmıştır. Deneme; Tesadüf Blokları Deneme Deseni uyarınca dört tekrarlamalı olarak kurulmuştur. Araştırmada verim ile verime etkili; bitki boyu, tabla çapı, 1000 tane ağırlığı, tane verimi, tane boyu, kabuk oranı, yağ oranı ve protein oranı gibi karakterler incelenmiştir. En yüksek verim (364.55 kg/da) ve en düşük kabuk oranı (%42.77) T.T.A.E. 2 çeşidinden elde edilirken, en yüksek protein oranı İnegöl Alası (%17.18) çeşidinde, en uzun tane boyu (1.61cm) ise Kıbrıs çeşidinde saptanmıştır. İncelenen karakterlere ilişkin ikili ilişkilerde; dekara verim ile tane boyu (0.624**) arasında önemli olumlu, kabuk oranı (- 488*) ile önemli ancak olumsuz bir ilişki belirlenmiştir. Protein oranı ile bitki boyu (0.575**) arasında önemli ve olumlu, 1000 tane ağırlığı (-0.508*) ve kabuk oranı (-0.487*) arasında ise önemli ancak olumsuz ilişki saptanmıştır. Yapılan Path Analizi sonuçlarına göre; çerezlik ayçiçeğinde tane verimi ve protein oranına, özellikle tane boyu ile bitki boyunun doğrudan etkisinin önemli olduğu belirlenmiştir
