Abstract:

The main objective of this study is to study the dimensions of bonding and flirt anxiety as a substitutes of romantic loneliness in adults. The data in the study was collected with the participation of 441 adults who continued to study at the bachelor’s level at the various faculties of the University of Istanbul and the University of Istanbul-Cerrahpaşa and were selected by the appropriate sample method. Participants were applied Personal Information Form, Near Relationship Life Scale-Short Form, Flirt Anxiety Reserve-Adolescent Form and Social and Emotional Solitude Scale. In accordance with the main purpose of the study, it was studied by a multi-faceted hierarchical regression analysis of the age, gender, and the scores they obtain from the variables of avoidable bonding, anxiety bonding, flirting anxiety, which significantly undermines the levels of romantic loneliness. According to the results of the Regression analysis, romantic loneliness is negative with age, while anxiety is positive with avoidance, communication and unpleasant. On the other hand, when we study the relative contribution of these variables to the expression of romantic loneliness, it appears that the immense connection size makes the strongest contribution to the model, the contribution of the model of communication and anxiety is medium and the contribution of age is relatively weak.
