Abstract:

Abstract In our country, 11.2% of the greenhouse gas emission and carbon footprint amount increasing day by day is used by the Industry Sector, and most of the carbon emissions created by the energy sector, which is 72%, belong to the industry sector[17]. Although most of it originates from production, the use of powerful lighting fixtures has led us to examine the carbon emission rate due to lighting. Based on these statistics, the lighting energies of industrial buildings in the Organized Industrial Zone of Kayseri province were examined, and these were converted into annual CO2 Emission amounts with calculation methods such as Tier and Defra-Annex. The results have shown us that the annual carbon emission amount of the largest scale organized industrial zone of Kayseri, which has 3 different organized industrial zones, is 227,256.54 kgCO2/year. Calculations show that this amount, due to the frequent use of high-pressure lighting fixtures and the excessive use of energy by obsolete fixtures, will decrease by approximately 48% if all companies switch to LED systems.
