Bu araştırmanın amacı, okul aile birliklerinin kendileri için tanımlanan görevleri yerine getirme düzeyleri, okul yönetimine ilişkin karşılaştıkları sorunlar ve başarılı olmak adına destek taleplerinin belirlenmesidir. Araştırmada karma yöntem kullanılmıştır. Bu yöntemin tercih edilmesindeki temel amaç iki yaklaşımın da avantaj sağlayan yönlerinden istifade edilmesidir. Araştırmanın nicel boyutunda betimsel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Nitel boyutta ise görüşmeler sonucu elde edilen veriler içerik analizi ile çözümlenmiştir. İstanbul ili Tuzla ilçesindeki okul aile birlikleri arasından basit seçkisiz örnekleme ile 88 okuldan 50’si belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda okul aile birlikleri kendileri için tanımlanmış görevleri yüksek oranlarda yerine getirdikleri belirlenmiştir. Okul aile birliği üyelerinin çalışmalarını gerçekleştirirken karşılaştıkları zorluklara ilişkin alınan yanıtlar ‘Yönetici zorlukları, ‘Öğretmen zorlukları’ ve ‘Veli zorlukları’ alt temaları ile sınıflanmıştır. Okul aile birliği üyelerinin çalışmalarını gerçekleştirirken beklediği desteklere ilişkin alınan yanıtlar ‘Yasal iyileştirmeler’, ‘Yönetimsel destekler’ ve ‘Etkileşimin ve birlikteliğin artırılması’ alt temaları ile sınıflanmıştır. Araştırma sonuçları bağlamında politika yapıcılara, uygulayıcılara ve araştırmacılara öneriler sunulmuştur.
The aim of this research is to determine the levels of school family unions fulfilling their tasks, the problems they face with the school management, and support requests for their success. Karma method is used in research. The main objective of preference of this method is to take advantage of the two approaches. The research has been used in the quantum size of the visual scan model. In terms of quality, the data obtained as a result of the conversations is analyzed by content analysis. In Istanbul or Tuzla district, 50 of the 88 schools have been identified with a simple unselected sample from the school family unions. According to the findings obtained, the school family unions have determined that they have fulfilled the tasks defined for themselves at high rates. The answers received to the difficulties they encounter during the work of school family members are classified by the sub-themes 'Management difficulties, 'Teacher difficulties' and 'Teacher difficulties'. The responses received on the support that family members of the school are expecting during their work are classified by the sub-themes 'Legal Improvements', 'Administrative Support' and 'Improving Interaction and Solidarity'. In the context of the research results, recommendations were presented to policy makers, practitioners and researchers.
The aim of this study is to determine the level of fulfillment of the tasks defined for the PTAs, the problems they face regarding school management and their requests for support to be successful. Mixed method was used in the study. The main purpose of choosing this method is to utilize the advantageous aspects of both approaches. In the quantitative dimension of the research, descriptive survey model was used. In the qualitative dimension, the data obtained from the interviews were analyzed by content analysis. Among the PTAs in Tuzla district of Istanbul province, 50 out of 88 schools were selected through simple random sampling. In line with the findings obtained, it was determined that PTAs fulfill the tasks defined for them at high rates. The responses received regarding the difficulties encountered by PTA members while carrying out their activities were classified under the sub-themes of 'Administrator difficulties', 'Teacher difficulties' and 'Parent difficulties'. The responses received regarding the support that PTA members expect while carrying out their activities were classified under the sub-themes of 'Legal improvements', 'Administrative support' and 'Increasing interaction and unity'. In the context of the research results, recommendations were presented to policy makers, practitioners and researchers.
