Abstract:

Geleneksel Keynesyen Yaklaşım, bütçe açıkları ile cari işlemler açığı arasında bir ilişkinin olduğunu savunurken, Ricardo Denklik hipotezine göre iki gösterge arasında herhangi bir ilişki söz konusu değildir. Bu çalışma 1980-2011 yıllık verileri kullanılarak Türkiye ekonomisi için ikiz açık hipotezinin (bütçe açığı ile cari işlemler açığı arasındaki ilişki) geçerliliğini test etmektedir. Johensen eşbütünleşme yaklaşımı kullanarak, bütçe açığı ve cari açık arasında uzun dönemli bir ilişki olduğu sonucuna varılmaktadır. Çalışmada elde edilen test sonuçları Türkiye için bütçe açığından cari açığa tek yönlü nedensellik (Granger) ilişkisini göstermekte ve Keynesyen yaklaşımı desteklemektedir.
