Resûl-i Ekrem’in hayatında yolculuklar önemli bir yer tutmakta olup onun on yıllık Medine hayatındaki gazveleri, umreleri ve Vedâ haccı sebebiyle Medine dışında geçirdiği süre bir buçuk yıla yakındır. Bazı âyet ve sûreler yolculuk esnasında nâzil olduğu gibi Resûlullah’ın mucizelerinin büyük bir kısmı da yine yolculuklar esnasında meydana gelmiştir. Hz. Peygamber uzun seferleri esnasında yetişkin, genç, çocuk ve hanımlarından bazı kimseleri bineğinin terkisine bindirmiştir. Bunların sayısı kırk civarındadır. Resûlullah’ın terkisine bindikleri için bir kısım sahâbî, biyografilerinde “Resûlullah’ın terkisine binen” anlamında “Redîfü’n-nebî” özelliğiyle tanıtılmıştır. Resûl-i Ekrem, terkisine bindirdiği şahısların kabiliyet, yaş, ihtiyaç, bilgi seviyesi ve ailevî yakınlık gibi durumlarını dikkate alarak onlarla çok yönlü iletişim içinde olmuştur. Hadis ve siyer kaynaklarında Resûlullah ile bineğine aldığı kişiler arasında yolculuk sırasında cereyan eden eğitim-öğretim, nasihat, doğal iletişim, tebliğ ve tebyin özellikli çok yönlü diyaloglardan bazısı hadis rivayetine de yansımış ve kaynaklarda yer almıştır. Biz bu makalede hadis ve siyer kaynaklarını esas alarak Resûlullah’ın terkisine bindiği belirtilen kişilerin isimlerini genel olarak zikredeceğiz. Resûlullah’ın terkisine birilerini bindirme sebeplerini ve Resûl-i Ekrem’le birlikte oldukları esnada aralarında cereyan eden hâdise ve diyalogların özelliklerinin genel bir değerlendirmesini yapmaya çalışacağız. Bilhassa bunların hadis rivayetine yansımalarına odaklanacağız.
