Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the wounds surrounding the knee joint that are seen during long jumping sports. Methods: From January 2005 to January 2012, 68 cases of emergency care requested due to knee injury during long jumping sports were examined as retrospective. All incidents were scaned in combination or isolation with regard to wounded knee and surrounding structures, long jumping distance, wounded side, demographic data and radiological findings. All injuries were classified in three groups according to the number of anatomical structures affected. The study data were evaluated using Mann Whitney U, Pearson Ki-Care test, Fisher's exact test and Fisher-Freeman-Halton exact test. It is estimated at the levels p<0,01 and p<0,05. Results: All cases were male and the age range was 23.25±2.82. In 63.2% of cases, the right side was affected by 26.8% of the left side. Ephusion was the most frequently detected radiological discovery. In 66.2 percent of cases, front-cross connections (PCC), 63.3 percent internal meniscus (IM), 25 percent internal side connections (IB), 22.1 percent external meniscus (DM), 11.7 percent external side connections (DYB), 10.3 percent extender mechanism and 4.4 percent back-cross connections (PCC) injuries were detected. In the left side of the injury, the rate of injury in the right side of the injury was statistically significantly higher than in the left side of the injury (p=0,016; p=0,014). There was no meaningful relationship between the jumping distance and the injuries (p=0,076). The result: in long jumping sports, it is seen that all the inner and surrounding structures, including the front cross bond and the internal meniscus, may be injured in a single or combined way.
