Abstract:

After the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Russia began to follow a different policy against its countries in Central Asia. Russia has been trying to keep this geography in the field of influence by increasing its control over the energy resources in the Central Asian region, by placing its military troops in these countries and by establishing regional cooperation mechanisms. This is not a secret that Kazakhstan and Russia, one of the Central Asian Republics, maintain close relations. Russia is one of the most important actors in Kazakhstan, especially in terms of energy policy. The two countries have not forgotten to establish an alliance while facing a number of crises and challenges they face. This study aims to examine the policy of the Russian Federation in Kazakhstan on the basis of issues such as political, security, economic and Russian minority.
