Abstract:

Known as a slow city,aslow brings a new approach to contemporary tourism practices by making the experience of tourists who want to live slowly with the slowly living locals more satisfying. Seferihisar is known as the firstaslow city in Turkey since 2010. This research is basically examining the Seferihisar destination promotional video from aaslow (low city) perspective. The research is published by the Seferihisar Municipality in the promotional video Seferihisar is trying to identify how the qualities relating to the slow urban practices are transmitted, represented and to what extent these criteria are placed. For this purpose, the research is based on the content analysis of visual promotional materials of Seferihisar and other slow cities. There is also a comparison of promotional videos of slow cities published on theaslow website. In the study, Seferihisar promotional videos have found some slow tourism features. But a clear message that could increase the potential for the region to be a sustainable and slow destination has been found to be missing in both Seferihisar promotional videos and otheraslow videos.
