Abstract Abstract This study gives information about the 8th International Nursing Council Congress which was held in 1937 and the Turkish nurses who were attended to. The sources of the study were the Government Republic Archive, Red Crescent Archive, British Red Cross Archive, Archives of the International Nursing Councils, National and International Journal Archives and the Literature. The 8th International Nursing Council Congress was held in London between 18-24 July 1937 with the participation of nurses from more than 32 countries around the world. The scientific schedule of the congress were in four parts as Nursing Education, Organization and management, Public Health, Some Nursing Problems, in 31 main topics 65 studies were presented. Whereas the social schedule includes garden parties hosted by many associations and hospitals, hospital visits including medical treatments and technological innovations, music concerts, theater performances and dinners. Two nurses from Turkey have been attended to the congress. in the name of Red Crescent Organization Fatma Eneren Bengisu and Makbule Kılıç had been sent to the congress as casual employees with travel allowance As far as it was understood by the document in Republic Archive the 03.07.1937 judgment had been signed by the great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. On 20th July Tuesday afternoon in the National collabration in Public Health Studies session; Turkish nurses have been presented a study called Health Practices in Turkey.
