Knowledge tests are generally developed to measure the concepts students learn in the lesson. Therefore, these tests may need to be compatible with the learning that corresponds to the level of knowledge. In this context, the aim of the research is to develop a reliable and valid knowledge test for the second unit of the T.R. History of Revolution and Kemalism course by following the test development process. For this purpose, 27 multiple choice question items have been prepared to cover the subjects of the course. These prepared questions were presented to expert opinions and applied to 26 students as pre-pilot. As a result of the reliability and validity analyzes, necessary corrections and changes were made in the test. Then, after the test was applied preliminarily, it was applied to 160 students in 3 secondary schools in Sakarya, in the first term of the 2019-2020 academic year. The data obtained were analyzed with SPSS 22 and TAP item analysis programs. According to the results of the analysis, KR20 reliability coefficient of the test was found to be 0.802; the average discrimination index was found to be 0.470 and the difficulty index was found to be 0.462. İn this concept, it can be stated that the test can be used to test the gains in the knowledge level of the course and to examine students' historical knowledge and readiness levels.
