 XII. yüzyıl Azerbaycan şairi İlyas Yusuf oğlu Nizami Gencevi 1141-1209 yılları arasında Azerbaycan’ın kadim şehri Gence ‘de yaşamıştır .   Şair saraylardan uzak sakin hayatı tercih etmiş , dünyaya  “ Hamse ”sini  ve lirik şiirlerden oluşmuş “Divanını”  Nizami Gencevi  adı ile tanıtmıştır. Nizaminin eserleri hale sağ iken tüm Şark alemine yayılmıştır. Daha sonraki asırlarda uzak Hindistan’da, Orta Asya’da, Avrupa’da Nizami eserleri tarihçilerin, yazarların, dilcilerin dikkat odağına dönüşür.  Fransa’da, İngiltere’de, Almanya’da, Rusya’da şairin yaratıcılığına yüksek merak uyanmıştır. Beşlik anlamına gelen “Hamse ”ye dahil olan “Sırlar Hazinesi”, “Leyla ve Mecnun”, “Hüsref ve Şirin” , “Yedi Güzel”, “İskender Name” eserleri ile tanınan Nizami ihtimal ki,  Azerbaycan ve Fars dillerinde  lirik şiirler ve gazeller yazmış, halk arasında yayılmış, meclislerde okunmuş, daha sonralar büyük hacimli eserler yazmaya başlamıştır.

by XII. The son of the century Azerbaijani poet Ilyas Yusuf, Nizami Gencevi, lived in the ancient city of Azerbaijan between 1141-1209 years. The . The poet preferred a quiet life away from the palaces, introduced to the world the " Hamse "sini and lyrics composed "Divan" with the name of Nizami Gencevi. His works became right while all the songs spread into the world. In the subsequent centuries, the work of Nizami in Far India, Central Asia, Europe became the focus of attention of historians, writers, linguists.  In France, England, Germany, Russia, a great curiosity about the poet’s creativity has emerged. Nizami is known for his works "The Secret Treasure", "Leyla and Mecnun", "Husref and Sweet" , "Seven Beautiful", "Alexander Name" that are included in "Hamses" which means five. Probably, in Azerbaijan and Persian, he wrote lyric poems and gazels, spread among the people, read in parliaments, and later began to write large-scale works.

XII. Century Azerbaijani poet İlyas Yusuf son Nizami Ganjavi lived in Ganja, the ancient city of Azerbaijan between 1141-1209. The poet preferred a quiet life away from palaces and introduced his "Hamse" and "Divan" consisting of lyrical poems to the world under the name Nizami Gencevi. While the works of the Nizam were still alive, they spread throughout the Eastern world. In the following centuries, Nizami's works become the focus of attention of historians, writers and linguists in distant India, Central Asia and Europe. High interest in the creativity of the poet has awakened in France, England, Germany and Russia. Known for his works of "Secrets Treasure", "Leyla ve Mecnun", "Husref and Sirin", "Yedi Guzel", "Iskender Name" included in the "Hamse" meaning quintet, Nizami is likely that lyrical poems and ghazals in Azerbaijani and Persian languages. He wrote, spread among the public, was read in assemblies, and later began to write large volumes of works.
