Abstract:

Since the beginning of animation cinema in 1906, many different techniques have been tried to manipulate and manipulate drawn images. Ollie Johnston and Frank Thomas, two of the designers in Disney's "Nine Old Men" team, published a book titled "The Illusion of Life: Disney Animation" in 1981. This book included 12 principles of animation that had been experimented with since the 1930s but were not announced until 1981. These principles were about how the animated characters produced by Disney studios could be designed more realistically within the laws of physics. In this article, within the scope of the 12 principles of animation, the 1946 cartoon Book Revue, produced by Warner Bros. and included in the Looney Tunes animation series, will be analyzed. At the time of the release of the cartoon to be analyzed, these principles were not yet known outside of Disney, and the movie was produced by Warner Bros., Disney's competitor. To examine the extent to which the cartoon Book Revue is compatible with the 12 principles summarizes the content and purpose of this article.
