Abstract:

The resene (Foeniculum vulgare), a spice plant in the Mediterranean and Europe, is used as a aroma and medicinal plant in foods. The production of resin is widely performed in the Burdur and its districts. However, last year and this year, when the production of fungal pathogens seen in the resin production fields began to threaten, the manufacturers sent our laboratory samples. Therefore, studies have been conducted for the recognition of the sick fungus, after the sick has been cultivated, Koch postulate has been applied and advice on appropriate methods of fighting has been given. Microscopic studies have shown that the infection of resene plants is Cercosporidium punctum. In the tissue of the plant, the symptoms indicated in the form of burns in the high temperature and moisture can cause epidemic in a short time. In the fight against the disease, the seed certified from the disease should be used, if there is, the disease-resistant varieties should be produced and the development of the disease should be prevented by cultural practices.
