Abstract:

Roy Adaptation Model is a model which is commonly used in nursing and it creates a structure to determine needs for adaptation of human, families and groups and focus on an adaptive system of human and environmental alternations. It includes four areas of adaptation, these are physiologic, self-esteem concept, role function and dependence mutual areas and human in this model is illustrated as biophysicosocial creation of interactive and affective of the environment. To know theories and models closely related human, health and disease is very importantin order to create a structure and discipline in nursing practices since the endeavor of nursing is the human. If nurses have knowledge about theroies and models and use these theroies and modelsdeliberately, results are analyzed by nurses and a database for nursing can create. In this article; Roy Adaptation Model and use of this model is explained with rheumatoid arthritis case, an example related using model in nursing care is displayed.
