Bu çalışmanın amacı fen bilimleri dersinde STEM eğitiminin, ortaokul altıncı sınıf öğrencilerinin, bilimsel yaratıcılıklarına ve öğrencilerin STEM mesleklerine ilgilerine etkisini incelemektir. Araştırmada ön test-son test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın örneklemini Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi’ndeki bir ildeki iki ayrı sınıfta öğrenim gören 73 6.sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmanın deney grubunda araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen fen bilimleri dersinde mevcut öğretim programına bütünleştirilmiş STEM etkinlikleri kullanılmıştır. Kontrol grubunda ise mevcut öğretim programında yer alan etkinlikler uygulanmıştır. Öğrencilerin, bilimsel yaratıcılıklarını ölçmek için Bilimsel Yaratıcılık testi “BYT” STEM mesleklerine yönelik ilgilerini belirleyebilmek için STEM Mesleklerine Yönelik İlgi Ölçeği “STEM MYİÖ” kullanılmıştır. Bu çalışmada elde edilen veriler PASW İstatistik 18 programı ile analiz edilmiş olup parametrik istatistiklerden ilişkili ve ilişkisiz örneklemler-t testleri kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlar doğrultusunda STEM etkinliklerinin uygulandığı deney grubu öğrencilerinin bilimsel yaratıcılık becerilerinin gelişiminde olumlu etkiye sahip olduğu ve STEM mesleklerine yönelik ilgilerinde önemli bir değişiklik sağladığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
The aim of this study is to study the impact of STEM education, high school sixth class students, scientific creativity and interests of students in the STEM professions. The study used a semi-experimental pattern with a pre-test-final test control group. The sample of the study consists of 73 6th grade students who study in two separate classes in an province in the Eastern Anadolu Region. STEM activities integrated into the current curriculum were used in the scientific courses developed by researchers in the experimental group of the study. In the control group, the activities included in the current teaching program have been implemented. The Scientific Creativity Test "BYT" is used to measure students' scientific creativity; the STEM Career Interest Scale "STEM" is used to determine their interests in the STEM professions. The data obtained in this study was analyzed through the PASW Statistics 18 program and used related and unrelated sampling-t tests from parametric statistics. According to the results obtained, the experimental group in which STEM activities were implemented found that the students had a positive impact on the development of their scientific creativity skills and made a significant change in their interests in the STEM professions.
