Abstract:

Today, with the rapid development of technology and information network, the changing economic conditions make it easier for rational individuals, economics readers, to understand the world in which they live, to become more intelligent and participatory and to understand the potential of their economic policies. The aim of the study in this direction is to get the graduate students who are registered at the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Çukurova aware of the levels of economics literature. However, it is also asked to study whether there is a significant difference in the level of economics literature depending on the different demographic characteristics of students. The study included a scale consisting of 34 questions prepared by Gerek and Kurt (2011) in Turkish form in order to determine the level of economic literature of the participants. In the survey, which consists of two sections along with the personal information form, a total of 224 postgraduate students participated.  Description statistics on the collected and organized data and multi-variable statistical analysis methods of factor analysis applications have been made using the SPSS package program. The reliability ratio for the economy used for the scale of literature was achieved at 94% and the scale of literature in the economy was reduced to a total of five lower dimensions. The results of the analysis resulted in the increase in the frequency of follow-up of the economy and the number of lessons related to the received economy, as well as the level of economics literature.
