Abstract:

Today, events around the world, because of their economic contribution, are at the center of our culture as never before. The basic structures of the event industry include the event organizations, the event management companies, the event suppliers and the associations related to the events. The irrevocable importance of the events has made the activity logistics a business hand that requires expertise. Event logistics is the transfer of a goods from anywhere in the world to anywhere else in the event area and the transfer of such goods to the source or to another desired address (a different event area, etc.). In this study, focusing on the concept of activity logistics, a qualified study was carried out with semi-structured interviews within the framework of the logistics companies that show activity logistics in Turkey. The data obtained from the manager of the seven-event logistics company has been subjected to content analysis with the Maxq program. Among the research findings is that the activity logistics is based on time, and because it is an operation that involves risks such as faults and increases the cost of errors, it is a type of logistics that requires good planning and coordination from the beginning. The research is one of the numerous studies that study this type of logistics in our country, and the research results are aimed to keep the light of the research to be done in the future.
